Accessibility Statement

Lindi Books wants every kid — and every grown-up — to be able to read, download, and enjoy the stories on librarywithoutwalls.org. We are committed to making this website accessible to people with disabilities, and we work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

Measures we take

• Semantic HTML with proper landmarks, headings, and a skip-to-content link on every page.
• Text alternatives for meaningful images, including every page of the books in our online reader.
• Color contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG 2.1 AA ratios, with information never conveyed by color alone.
• Full keyboard operability — the book reader, forms, and cookie preferences all work without a mouse — with visible focus indicators.
• Reduced-motion support: animations are disabled when your device asks for less motion.
• Regular automated and manual accessibility testing as the site grows.

An ongoing effort

This site is under active construction, and accessibility is a continuing effort rather than a finished checkbox. Some content — especially newly uploaded books and photographs — may not yet be fully accessible. We review new content and features against WCAG 2.1 AA as they are added.
